Workout Wednesdays

Workout Wednesdays are meant to give myself some inspiration and ideas for working out during the week! I'm trying to become a healthier person one step at a time! One Workout at a time!

Yesterday & today were my only productive days exercise wise this week. That's an improvement so I'm not feeling too bad about it. Last night I had a talk with Babe about wanting to work out more and wanting him to motivate me more. I had also suggested he could join me at the gym if he wanted. Well the talk must have worked because he did come join me at the gym!! It made me very happy and scared the junk out of me all at the same time! He knocked on the window for me to let him in while I was running fast walking on the treadmill and frightened me! After my freak out everything else went smoothly and we worked out next to each other. I like working out with him because he doesn't judge me. Well he usually doesn't judge me. He did give me a funny look when I started jumping rope without a jump rope. I stink at jumping rope so I decided to jump without the rope. No big deal except you look funny or at least I do!

Last Night I decided to try the Killer Kardio Workout. Though as I'm typing this post I'm realizing I must have gotten distracted when I copied all the steps of the workout into my notebook because I forgot the first set of Burpees and the last 10 Minute Run. Not a problem though I'll just try to include those exercises in the next time I do this workout. I probably won't include the Burpees! I'm not sure if my problem with Burpees is because they're boring or because I'm not doing them fast enough but whatever the reason I don't like them and did squats instead! The point is I made it through the workout and I didn't die though I did have a headache.

When we got back from the gym I made Babe, his brother R and myself all Strawberry Banana Smoothies! They were really delicious and make me wish we had more Milk & Bananas so I could make some right now!

While I was walking on the treadmill last night I was trying to think of some ways to motivate myself to workout. One of the things I came up with was not letting myself play on the computer today until after I did 100 sit ups. I did get on the computer before did my sit ups but only to look up some stretches to do before my workout. I came across a 1o Minute Morning Routine which I ended up liking almost all of the workouts except Step 5: Hip & Leg Stretch and the Meditation. The lady in the picture for Step 5 looks like a pretzel! The directions and the picture just made the stretch confuse me. As for the Meditation I've never really done one before. I'm a really stressful and easily distracted person so maybe a guided video meditation might help me. After my stretches we done I did get my 100 sit ups done! Yay me!!

I'm hoping to keep my momentum going and workout several more times this week! I guess we'll just have to see what happens.

Good Luck with your Workouts this Week!

Until Next Time! Stay Beautiful :)

Workout Wednesdays

Workout Wednesdays are meant to give myself some inspiration and ideas for working out during the week! I'm trying to become a healthier person one step at a time! One Workout at a time!

Again I haven't been working out as often as I would like or at all! My roommates B & R have been going on a walk every night. B is in "training mode" as she has a 5k in September and she wants to be in better shape for it. I guess the last 5k she did with her mom she got sick (vomiting) all day. I find it very encouraging seeing her working so hard to achieve a goal!

What little exercising I have done lately has been swimming and playing Frisbee! I love throwing a Frisbee around with Babe and sometimes R joins us. I'm not very good at throwing a Frisbee but I'm getting better. It still flies off in the wrong direction but not nearly as often as it use to! When R, Babe and I all play we switch up who I throw to because that person has to run around a lot and they get tired!

For awhile now I've been wanting to play Frisbee at 2 am. I'm on one of my abnormal sleeping schedules. I'm a night person so I often sleep the day away. Lately I've been going to bed between 3 or 4 am and waking up around 11 am or noon. On the bright side I do get a full eight hours of sleep! Anyways back to the 2 am Frisbee playing, I've asked Babe a few times and he always says no as he has to work the next day! I continue to ask because I know ONE day he will say YES!!

Some Motivational Words for this week:

This not only pertains to fitness goals but all goals! Life won't change if you don't take the first step! I keep expecting change but I'm doing anything to warrant change. Something to think about and then act!

Are there any quotes you find inspirational?

Until Next Time! Stay Beautiful :)

One Year Older, One Year Wiser...

Today is my Birthday & I'm  now 24! It's been a year since I started this blog and I don't feel like I've done much with it. I could make some promise about writing more often but we both know that won't last very long! Today I've been thinking about past birthdays, about memories and about the changes I've made over the last year!

My 19th Birthday  is one I remember more often than some because it wasn't very good! It was my first & only Birthday I had while I was at College but I suppose that's a story for a different day. Anyways it was Saturday, May 1st, 2010. I had gone out to a club with my friends and my boyfriend Thursday Night and had fun. I love going out dancing at a club but it's not something my now boyfriend enjoys doing. My Birthday started out well I went and had a pedicure done with my Mom which we use to do every year on my Birthday! Then we went out to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings with my Mom and my Gramma. Both my Mom & my Gramma didn't enjoy the restaurant as much as I did as it was too loud which made me feel bad. Then my Mom dropped me back off at campus because my Birthday was also the day of my sister's prom and my Mom needed to spend the rest of the day helping her get her hair done and getting ready. I wasn't very happy about having to share my birthday! I ended up spending the rest of the day trying to get a hold of my boyfriend to see if he wanted to hang out. He ignored me the whole day and I ended up finding out a few days later that he had been wanting to break up with me since Thursday but didn't want to do it right before my birthday so he ignored me and waiting until AFTER my Birthday to break up with me! Because making me spend my birthday feeling alone and unwanted was the nice thing to do! Thanks dirt bag! I also ended up getting my first asthma attack that day after smoking a hookah with some friends. That Birthday was certainly a memorable one.

Most of my other Birthdays were really fun especially the ones I had in High School when I lived with my Mom. She made me breakfast every morning before school but since I'm a weirdo that doesn't like most breakfast foods or foods in general she would make me a plate of Cucumbers, Peppers, Cantaloupe and other fruits or veggies! On my Birthday she would arrange my breakfast in to numbers for however old I was turning like 16, 17 or 18! I know I have a picture somewhere and when I find it I'll post it! She would also decorate our doors with Balloons, streamers and a sign! It always made me feel special and I try to remember to do that for my roommates on their birthdays!! :D She would also give me presents and we would try to go out to dinner. Birthday Person chooses the restaurant! One of my favorite parts of the day would be listening to her and my sister sing me "Happy Birthday" while I wait to blow out the candles on my Birthday Pie! Yup that's right I'm one of those people! The people who would rather have a pie than a cake on their Birthday! But not just any pie! I always have a Marie Calendar Banana Cream Pie! Well almost always this year I'm going the more frugal route and having a homemade Peanut Butter Cream Pie! The point I'm trying to make is that my 16th, 17th and 18th Birthdays were some of the best ones I've had because my Mom made me feel even more special than usual!

Like most people I love getting presents for my Birthday. I say most because Babe is one of those people who doesn't like presents and doesn't like to celebrate his Birthday. In his family a Birthday was just another day! I find that to be super upsetting and I try hard to make him realize that his birthday is special & important because... *MUSH WARNING* ....it was the day he was born and he's special & important to me!! <3

Sorry for the mushy detour I just love my Babe so much sometimes I have a hard time containing it! Anyways as I was saying I enjoy getting gifts! There will always be something else that I will want and Birthdays or other Holidays help me get some of those materialistic goods! But what I really want not just for my Birthday but for everyday is to be wanted, to be loved and to be appreciated!! I often struggle with self-love but my Birthday is a day where I feel more love than I can possibly handle and all this sometimes overwhelming love helps me love myself!

If all these people love me why can't I love me?
That's a question I often ponder!

Which Birthday is most memorable for you?
For the good or the bad reasons.

Until Next Time! Stay Beautiful :)

2015 the Year of Change

Change is in the air for 2015! We're already 3 months into 2015 but better late than never for this post. I'm one of those people that doesn't like change but the truth is change isn't always in our control!

This year started out with the possibility of Babe and I having to move into an apartment out in the boonies because it's all we'd be able to afford. R's girlfriend B got into a college nearby (I use that term loosely it's within an hour drive) and she wanted a place closer to school and only with R. She wasn't able to get a place. So thankfully we ended up not having to move and gained another roommate instead! R's girlfriend B and her dog Henry Buggins now live with us. That journey has had it's ups and it's downs. Though I try not to complain too much because I'm no longer lonely during the day as Buggins keeps me company and we didn't have to move!!

Not long after she moved in with us B decided she wanted to do a cleanse diet. I was already concerned about how the meal plans would go over with her and about our eating schedule. We don't really have one we eat when I make the food or when we're hungry which could be as late as midnight some nights. She wanted to eat dinner around 6 pm every night which doesn't seem like a problem for some people especially for those of us that don't have a job like me except I have some serious time management issues! I've been working on the 6 pm goal for the last two months and pride myself whenever I get dinner made before 7 pm! It's only happened a handful of times though. Anyways back to the cleanse. The Cleanse B wanted to do was a 21 Day Cleanse which included no meat, no dairy, was gluten-free and restricted several other dietary areas. At first I was very apprehensive about her cleanse as all of the recipes overwhelmed me but then after actually looking into it, reading the recipes and finding out I wouldn't be paying for it I was really excited! I asked B if I could cook/prep her meals for her and she said yes! One of my New Year's Resolutions or lifestyle changes as I prefer to call them was to expand my cooking abilities and to cook outside of my comfort zone. I have a very tight comfort zone not just of foods I like to cook but for those foods that I like to eat. The one thing I was most excited about when it came to helping with her cleanse was being able to try my hand at cooking new-to-me foods and not having to eat them! I learned how to prepare avacado, ginger, spinach, kale, beets and other healthy foods I don't like or have never tried. I even learned how to make hummus which was NOT a fun experience as I don't have a real blender just a Bella Magic Bullet type of Blender. The hummus was too thick and covered me in chickpeas which not only smell but are mushy and I do NOT do mushy! Since that interesting experience I've gotten a new-to-me blender and am hoping my next experience in making hummus is less traumatizing! B only ended up doing 2 of her 3 week Cleanse but I'm proud of her nevertheless! I know I wouldn't have been able to make it that far! Needless to say it was an interesting journey one I was happy I didn't have to make alone! After her cleanse B has been giving me more opinions and helping me with my meal plans which I truly appreciate.

One of my other New Year's Lifestyle Change Goals was to become a healthier person. I've started working out nearly every night.I prefer to workout around 11 pm to 3 am because the gym at our apartment complex is always deserted and I can blast my music. I like to use a few different apps on my phone to workout to. I use the Daily Workouts FREE app every other day for an arm workout. I also use the 30 Day Back Challenge Free, 30 Day Ab Challenge Free and the 30 Day Butt Challenge Free Apps for an overall body workout! I find that my back, my abs, my butt and my arms are some of my problem areas. I really can't stand working out but I also can't stand being overweight! I often remind myself that the pain and energy it takes to get healthy isn't as bad as the pain it takes being fat! I'm sick of being fat and for once I'm trying to do something about it! I'm hoping to eat healthier in the future too! One step at a time and one day at a time!

This year has brought about other changes too! On February 26th, 2015 my Gramma passed away. Yesterday March 9th was her birthday she would have been 87. I want to talk about her more in depth and I will in another post when I'm ready!

I'll say it again: 2015 is the year of Change! Good Changes and Bad Changes I'm sure 2015 will have it all! Only time will tell what the rest of this year will hold!

What Changes has 2015 brought for you so far?

Until Next Time! Stay Beautiful :)

All About Me Mondays

All About Me Mondays is time where I can tell all of you something about myself. I am one interesting & awesome person after all!

This week I thought I would tell you all about my love of Socks! Yes you read that right! Socks! I love crazy socks and strive to wear mismatched socks! I know that doesn't really make a whole lot of sense! Why would someone purposely mismatch their socks? Well I consider it not only a small act of rebellion but a display of my uniqueness & personality!

My socks!
This is how I organize my socks...I don't! I'm really picky about my socks or maybe I'm not that just how I perceive it. The socks I wear do not have to have the same design but they do have to be the same kind. For Example if I'm wearing white socks they both have to white & the same length. Crew Cuts & No Shows can not be worn together! Non-white socks have to have the same length & texture of the insides. On some socks you can feel the design from the inside so those can not be worn with smooth insides socks.

These are the majority of the non-white socks I have that's not including the dirty ones and the ones in the clean laundry. For years I got all of my Crazy non-white socks from Debs. Now I get them from Walmart, Five Below or other such stores. Though I've been wanting to try the socks from the Sock and Hosiery Hut at Destiny USA in Syracuse, NY for awhile now. They seem to have some really cool socks I'm just worried about their prices. I'll have to check them out the next time I'm at Destiny USA! That'll probably be on Friday for Black Friday Shopping!

This is the last sock I have out of a pack of socks one of my roommates from College gave me for Christmas. The other socks in the pack were lost or stolen by my sister or thrown away due to too many holes. I'm still friends with her on Facebook but we've lost touch. This sock reminds of the fun times we had together! She had the room next to mine & there were times in the middle of the night when she would sneeze & I would say Bless you through the wall in between us & she would say Thank you & we would both laugh! This socks has a few holes in it so I don't wear it very often anymore but when I do I never fail to make me smile!

My mom gave me this pair of socks! They say "I kissed a WereWolf" and remind me of the days where I was Twilighter! My senior year in High School was the year I was a obsessed with the Twilight Series. My friends & I would spend our mornings before school started in the library going on & on about Twilight, Robert Pattinson & Taylor Lautner! Do still enjoy watching the movies or reading the books occasionally but I'm not obsessed anymore!

In my family though more specifically my Mom & I buy socks for almost every Holiday! We use to buy earrings for every Holiday as well but I don't really wear earrings anymore.

My Christmas Socks!

These are my Holiday socks! Or at least the ones I still have! I'm sure there are more somewhere. Maybe at my Mom's house. But anyways I have 4 pairs of Christmas socks: snowman, candy cane, naughty & nice & Christmas Toes Socks which I never wear because I don't like things between my toes! I'd love to get a pair of Penguin socks so that's what I'll be on the look out for this Holiday season!

Then there's my Valentine's Day & Halloween socks. My Mom found a pair of Flying Pig socks & of course had to get them for me! Neither of the Halloween socks have a pair. Not that it matters I just find it funny! I'm of those people the people that lose something without even trying! So keeping a pair socks together is incredibly hard for me! Maybe that's the real reason I don't match my socks! :P

What kind of crazy sock collection would be complete without some Tie Dye socks! Neither of these have pairs either! Those poor socks succumbed to holes and tragically found themselves in the trash can! It's tragic because I poured my heart & artistic abilities into these awesome socks and they can't worn together! Damn you!

All that's missing now is my white socks & I won't subject you to picture of them because if you've seen one pair or pile of white socks you've probably seem them all!

If you happen to know of any places where I can get cool socks or have any of your own feel free to share!

Until Next Time! Stay Beautiful :)

Showcase Saturday

Babe suggested I make a Showcase Saturday so that I could branch out from my Stockpile Saturdays and show more of my awesome stuff! I'll still throw some Stockpile posts to keep things fresh! I'm a hoarder so I have tons of stuff to show all of you! Now on to this week's showcase: My Rubber Duckie Collection!

I've always had an interest in Rubber Duckies. Well one I told my Gramma May that I wanted Rubber Duckies for my birthday. She bought me the Mega Rubber Ducky Assortment from Oriental Trading it contains 100 Rubber Duckies! I've gotten several Rubber Duckies since then & now have 121 Rubber Duckies in my collection! I know I have a few other Duckies somewhere but I'm not sure where!

My Rubber Ducky Collection
The majority of the Ducks lined up behind the single row of Ducks are the Duckies that came from the gift my Gramma May gave me! I know the picture makes it a little difficult to see the different types of Duckies I have. So I'll tell you what's there & where I got them from. I'll also do my very best not to confuse the crap out of all of you! In the back section from the left to right we have Graduation Ducks (from Graduation Parties I attended). Decorate Your Own Rubber Duckies (my Aunt P gave them to me & her kids decorated some of them). Halloween Ducks (from Oriental Trading maybe?). The Ducks to the right of the Halloween Ducks and all the way over to the right side are all from the Oriental Trading Mega Assortment except the Large Reindeer Duck (my Mom gave it to me), the Large Pink Duck with Hearts & the Large Green Duck (both are from Walmart). *Even I think this sounds confusing! So I'm sorry!* The OT Mega Assortment my Gramma May gave me included the following types of Ducks: Firefighter, Policeman, Nurse, Doctor, Army, Swimming/Summer Fun, Mad Scientist, Flowers, Raincoats, Propeller Hat, Fiesta, Pirate, Princess and Sheriff Ducks. The single row of ducks are other ducks I've come across over the years. From left to right: Red, Blue & Purple Ducks (bought with tickets at an Arcade). Random Yellow Duck & Color Changing Duck (I have NO idea where these came from). Pig Duck (from the store Around the World). *Of course I would have a Pig Duck!* Super Hero Duck who I've named Duck Man! What's that in the sky? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? NO! It's Duck Man! *Sadly Babe pointed out Duck Man is a bird then proceeded to laugh at me!* I even came up with an alternate name for him like Superman or Batman. Darren Duckington or something like that! (I believe Duck Man is from a quarter machine). The Hippie Ducks next to Duck Man (are from Around the World). The Black Axe Duck in the middle was given to me by Uncle Don. Last but not least the very tiny pink & black Ducks are from a quarter machine they also came with stickers. I know I have more of those Ducks and the stickers somewhere but again I'm not sure where!

Duck Bin
This is how I currently store my Rubber Duckies. I'm hoping that when/if we move into a house I'll have more room to spread them out so I can see them all better! I've been thinking of adding more Duckies to my collection. Oriental Trading has so many Awesome Rubber Duckies! I even started a Pinterest Board for all of the different Rubber Duckies I want from them. I've been thinking about how I could us Rubber Duckies to teach my future children lots of stuff such as the ABC's, numbers and even emotions!

I love Rubber Duckies & I'm glad I was able to share that love with you!

Until Next Time! Stay Beautiful :)

Thursday Thoughts

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate / referral links.

I’m linking up with Jen over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom for Thursday Thoughts today.

- Tonight is game night at R's (my boyfriend's brother) work. Game Night is a monthly event that usually happens on the last Friday of the month. But the last Friday of October was Halloween so R switched it to this Friday and then switched it again to today when not very many people signed up! So once a month people from R's work and their friends/family all get together and play games for a few hours! I have a huge collection of card & board games so I always look forward to this event. I also like to bring as many snacks as possible in hopes of people eating all of them since we have so many! This time I'm bringing Life, Sorry, Flip Out, Funny or Die, Cards Against Humanity, Munchkins Booty, Last Word and an assortment of card games. We never end up playing all of them but I enjoy bringing them anyways! We're also bringing the Wii U this time. During September's Game Night I was SO BORED! The boys played a game that I didn't like for what seemed like hours! I was SO BORED I played a game of Sorry as all four players and beat myself! I will not let boredom win this time around!

- I've been working on tidying up the apartment which seems to be a never ending job since I always seem to mess it up again! But this time around I've been taking it one task at a time. I've already cleaned out one of the cabinets and I nearly have enough junk off the floor to vacuum! Yay me!

- I love this time of year in terms of how great the television shows are! I also like that I only have to wait a week for the next episode. Even though the week seems to drag whenever you are waiting to see the next episode! I'm currently obsessed with The Originals, Sleepy Hollow, Masterchef Junior, 19 Kids & Counting, The Big Bang Theory and The Vampire Diaries!

- I've won a few giveaways lately and am really excited about the prizes! I'm always excited when I win a giveaway regardless of what the prize! But I'm even more excited than usual because the prizes were for subscription boxes! I've been becoming more and more envious every time I read anyone's review of a subscription box! I won a subscription to Unbound Box  an Adult Subscription Box from Tiffany Review's It All and a 3 month subscription to Birchbox from Cassandra Morgan and a 1 month subscription to Box of Happies. I didn't have a subscription to any subscription box and now I have 3! Eep! I'm so excited!! I just can't hide it!

- I'm currently knitting an off-white scarf and am trying to get through it as soon as I can because my next project is an Electric Blue & Black scarf for my friend Kitty. I'm excited but it will be my first dual colored scarf so I'm also nervous and trying to figured out how many inches long each color should be and etc. I think she'll love it either way!

That's it for now! What's on your mind?

Until Next Time! Stay Beautiful :)
